Suggested Garden Tour Itinerary

England vacationers have ample opportunity to tour gardens as well as see other sites of interest because there are over 3,500 gardens in England. There are many flower shows associated with the gardens as well. The farthest we drove to visit a garden was to see Rosemoor, some 30 miles east of our self catering property near Ludlow, Shropshire, England. We spent a good part of the day there and also visited some historic sites.

As mentioned on the GARDENS page, the ngs site is excellent in helping you plan your tours because it can provide distances to various gardens in your area. NOTE: Use the specific garden websites for detailed information about the garden.

A self catering England vacation in the Chester vicinity would allow an itinerary as follows.

Day 1: Morning - visit Arley Hall and Gardens in Northwich. Afternoon - Norton Priory Museum & Gardens in Runcorn.

Day 2: Morning - visit Chalmondeley Castle Gardens in Malpas and Walton Hall and Gardens in Warrington. Afternoon - visit other garden(s) in the area or historic sites.

Many of the gardens have tearooms or serve lunch, or you can take your own nice picnic lunch.
