Fishing Opportunities During your England Vacation
The England vacation offers fishing opportunities which may be a bit different than in the U.S. and other countries. The species of fish are similar to those in the U.S., such as bass, bream, catfish, trout, salmon, perch, pike, and sunfish. There are some especially beautiful trout streams. It is recommended that to thoroughly enjoy a fishing outing during your England vacation that you employ the services of a guide service, at least for the first outing. Many of the fishing areas are on private properties and the guides can help you learn the ins and outs of obtaining permissions and permits. If you are going it on your own, inquire of your self catering host and local fishing tackle shops about the best locations and appropriate tackle. The approaches and tackle are sometimes different in England than the U.S. For example, in the Heartland, I asked a local sporting goods dealer for the proper hooks for trout fishing without telling him about the type tackle I had. He provided me with hooks so small I could not tie them on the line I brought from the U.S. Now, I do some research before I go and seek guidance when I arrive. Enjoy!
